Erin Beatty

Erin Beatty completed her Bachelor of Arts with honours and a Masters of Arts at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
Her previous research focused on the effects of personal beliefs, evidence quality, individual differences, and perspective taking in scientific evaluations. This research made use of lab based methods to investigate the ability of non-experts to evaluate and make conclusions from social science research.
She is a Marie Curie Fellow with the European Union and a Canadian Post Graduate Scholar with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
Her PhD work at Lancaster University, UK is focused on understanding the cognitive processes that underpin creative leaps during expert poetry composition. She has an ongoing interest in the role of memory in conflict detection within dual processes theory of reasoning.
